More Coding!

Similar to CodeAcademy, Khan Academy gives you challenges to complete after a short lesson. It began with a few simple tasks, such as creating a shape after showing a walk-through video on how to complete said task. I started off making a circle. Once you complete a task correctly, it gives you points which go toward earning badges and upgrading my profile.

It started out so easy…… but it has gotten a bit more difficult in the last couple weeks. In the first section I learned how to create shapes, and in the second session I learned how to colour in those shapes.

After I completed this session, it introduced me to a new project. A project is where you are given a set of objectives to complete in your code. This portion involved a good deal of creativity, so I had to put it down for the night and pick it up again the following day. I was all out of creativity for the day. The tasks were along the lines of what we had learned in the previous two sessions, such as putting together shapes to create something a bit more meaningful out of them. It definitely took me a few tries to catch on, like I said, I’m not an expert. But once I did it felt pretty good!
