For the past couple months, I have decided to teach myself to code in in my spare hours. Of course, I’m not looking to become a full-time coder, by any means. I definitely don’t have dreams of creating the next big app (bigger than Tik Tok???). Maybe, that would be pretty good money… and I could use it.
No, I was just curious. Curious about how learnable coding is as a skill.
The good thing is, is that it’s never been easier than right now to learn coding as a skill. There are so many cheap courses… or free, as I was specifically looking for. There’s an abundance of resources to help you get started and point you in the right direction. Within five minutes of looking I started an online course with CodeAcademy. I decided to learn JavaScript, after all, it is the language that powers the web. After reading through reviews and surveying recommendations and suggestions, I decided it was the best place to start. CodeAcademy was very basic, and as someone who had zero prior knowledge in coding, that’s what I needed. I needed something that would explain it as if I were a child.
